Borders Media had the opportunity to interview Cam Gigandet at Comic-Con about “Twilight.”

When asked whether he was fan of the series before being cast as James, he answered that his girlfriend gave him the book about one year ago while he was filming ‘Never Back Down’, he read it and loved it, and they both thought that the book should be made into a movie and a few months later they learnt about the production, and you know for the rest. Then he replied to a question about bad guys having more fun because they have more freedom, they don’t abide by any rules, … It’s definitely fun for the actor to play the villains.
Then he talked about how he prepared himself for the role in order to make fans happy and doing the book justice. And then he discussed his character and he really hopes that fans will understand to where his character of James is coming from [ why he is who he is: he sees two people in love, love that he doesn't understand, love that he has never had and that he will never have ], and finally talked about Stephenie Meyer on set giving her vision.
